Dance portraits · Byram, Mississippi

The stillness
between
the movements.

Portraits of young performers, made with the care of a parent who once sat in the same studio lobby you do now.

The studio

I came to photography
as a dance parent first.

I spent years in the wings before I ever picked up a camera, watching my own children transform under the lights, wishing I had something to show for those hours. Now, I make portraits for other families who feel the same pull: the wish to keep something of this, even after the season closes.
